Armenia has a long history of winemaking, and it is home to several indigenous grape varieties that contribute to its unique wine production. Some of the notable grape varieties in Armenia include:

Areni: Areni is one of the most famous and widely grown red grape varieties in Armenia. It is named after the village of Areni, where archaeological evidence suggests that winemaking dates back over 6,000 years. Areni grapes are used to produce red wines with a range of styles, from light and fruity to more complex and age-worthy.

Karmrahyut: Karmrahyut is another indigenous red grape variety in Armenia. It is often used in blends with Areni grapes to create well-balanced and structured red wines.

Voskehat: Voskehat is a prominent white grape variety in Armenia, known for its aromatic qualities and ability to produce crisp, refreshing white wines. It is used to make both dry and semi-sweet wines.
